Hello to Romania!
I don`t want to talk about politics or stuff, but I`ve always been interested in military iconography. So I just wanted to ask you, if the romanian SS-symbol you uploaded has some kind of historical meaning or backstory. Where does it come from? I also saw it in some of your other folkloristic patterns, so I thought it is some kind of romanian symbol or something?
Greetings from Germany!
In 1941 the movement was officialy stopped. After 23.08.1944,The day that King Michael betrayed Germany, around 55.000 soldiers of the Romanian Army and Iron Guard members joined the Waffen SS to fight on against the soviets. The symbol is  sometimes  found on traditional clothing, but is quite rare.So the symbol only regarded to the Iron Guard.
Thank you for the fast answer. It was pretty interesting and informative, and I just got a little smarter thanks to you. Next time that I meet a romanian I will try to score with my new knowledge...

Though I guess, not every romanian (I`m sure there are socialists or left people in Romania just like everywhere else in the world) will like the symbol too much, but who cares...

Free european greetings comrad! See you!
The movement is now considered a fascist movement, which is wrong, just this year this ''democratic'' laws can now get Romanians 3 years of jail for promoting the Iron Guard in public. There is no democracy!Unfortunately most people forgot their history, many romanian never heard of the movement,It is not presented in school, and if it is presented,it appears just like an extremist group.Anyway,I just like to comemorate the Romanian German WW2 alliance. We nationalists from all over Europe,we are now persecuted, they force us to accept multiculturalism. And now with the damn islam forced all over Europe,we are doomed!

Hello,The symbol represents The Iron Guard,a nationalist movement lead by Corneliu Zelea Codreanu. The movement's purpose was to fight against the bolshevik jews who wanted to bring communism in Romania by any means. The symbol(Gard de Fer) Iron Fence, also represents the Christian Cross behind bars. The movement acted mostly in the interwar period, being founded in 1927,promoting romanian nationalism and christian orthodoxism.
